Review of Three Children's Books by Kaht

Zoo Day

Come with us to the zoo. Check out Zebra’s hairdo. Discover Flamingo’s favorite food. Meet Lion, Bat, and Kangaroo, and visit all the others too! Frog likes the zoo, and he likes you, so he’ll pop in a time or two. Win his game of hide and seek. You can find that little sneak!

Dress Up Day

Come with us as we dress up. Be a princess, pilot, or chef. Maybe you think a policeman is best. Farm the land, sing in a band, or fight fires like a fireman. See a teacher, a doctor, an artist, too, and learn about the jobs they do.

Bright, colorful illustrations combine with fun rhyme to fill children’s dreams with beautiful possibilities. Bring your sashes, glasses, and fake mustaches!

Grandparents’ Day

In this heartwarming story, a loving grandchild cares for her elderly grandparents as she fondly recalls how they did the same for her when she was younger. Simple drawings and elegant use of color combine with gentle rhyme to touch the hearts of parents and children alike. Learn to cherish the memories we make with our family members, young and old.

My Review:

The beautiful artistry of the pictures in Tina Marie Kaht’s books immediately catch one’s eye.  The way the author weaves the children’s stories together is simple but informative and fun.  My children sure enjoyed reading her books with me, and I even cried a little at Grandparent’s Day.  What wonderful books to add to your family’s collection!  The only thing I would suggest is a more racially diverse and differently abled group of kids depicted in the stories.

My Rating:

5 stars for charm, ease of use for children, fantastic artwork, and overall excellence in children’s literature
